Albi is approximately 40 minutes drive from the chambres d'hotes, a beautiful town with most of the buildings constructed in red brick. It sits on the banks of the River Tarn and has many elegant shops and eating establishments.
There are many places of interest in Albi, which include the huge cathedral and the world famous Toulouse-Lautrec museum, which holds 600 of the artists paintings.
The Basilica of Sainte Cecile dominates Albi's skyline. The splendor of its workmanship and it's sheer size all contribute to the magic of a visitor's first glimpse of this wonder. The inside is magnificent, covered with murals and carved stone.

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The artist of the Moulin Rouge, was born here and spent most of his life in Albi.
